I'm currently remodeling my home. Should I paint first or first have my floors installed/resurfaced?
Ah, the age old question. What we say to our clients is simply this, which ever you'de like. Rule of thumb is as follows; when it comes to walls, all repairs should be complete, meaning all joint-compounding and plastering must be complete prior to having any flooring work done. When remodeling about 1-2 rooms or a small surface area most people prefer to paint afterall flooring work is performed. Covering a floor is fine as long as it is covered corner to corner to avoid unsightly sun spotting on any exposed areas. If a large surface area is to be worked on then most home owners prefer to paint before any flooring work is performed. Our company works around finished paint and trim on a regular basis. Also, our unique Dust Containment System dramatically reduces the amount of airbourne dust created in your home leading to a cleaner and healthier work enviroment.
