Many species of wood dust are known carcinogens and can create disturbances such as annoying allergies to even more serious health issues. Dust Containment Systems are an innovative approach to traditional sanding methods. Their are many companies in Rhode Island and Massachusetts still operating their sanding equipment with either attached bags or nothing at all. We attach an external vacuum to 6 out of our 7 pieces of sanding equipment. Our systems do not collect every single airbourne particle created. It is safe to say however, they collect between 75-90% of dust created depending on the squareness of the floor being sanded. Narrow hallways, under radiators and kitchen toekicks and such obstructions require extra precision sanding subsequently resulting in a small amount of extra dust created.
